Add a Dimension

This week's corrosive challenge was to add a dimension to a card. I made this ruffle "Hope" card. All the ruffles are lifted by spots of tape and the butterfly is lifted by a pop dot. I know that this card is for Breast Cancer awarness but I think it should celebrate "hope" for all cancers. I never did get all the different colours, I have overcome brain cancer which is a gray ribbon(not the best colour in my opinion) So lets lift up" hope" not just this month but every month of the year.

Love Bites

This week's challenge over at the corrosive challenge is Love Bites.I took it in a different direction. I used this great image from TiddleyInks, our sponser for this month, and immediately thought of computer bytes. I printed out a bunch of 1's and 0's to represent code and added the saying sending you a bunch of love bytes. Geeky, I know but it made me chuckle and I will give it to my husband for Valentines.

I {Heart} you

This week's theme at the corrosive challenge is I {heart } you. We want you to use at least one heart in your card in preparation for valentine's day. I used this month sponser image"milkshake". I paper pieced together the pink background and coloured the rest with my Stampin up markers. The hearts down the side are stickers that I found for 90 off at Michaels and the saying is a Stampin up saying.

Ring in the New Year

It's a new year! All of us at the Corrosive Challenge would like to welcome our new team members! I hope everyone had a great Christmas, mine wasn;t the best as I was sick with what I thought was the flu but it seems to be something with my gallbladder, I am still waiting for test results. Anyways, this weeks challenge is to ring in thenew Year with something new. Well, I received the Pretties Kit by Stampin up for Christmas and this was my first chance to play with it. I choose to make a clean and simple Valentine card and topped it off with ta beaded stick pin and some halfback pearls from the kit. I also received my first movers and shakers die by Tim Holtz and that is next on my list to play. My New Year's goal is to use what I have instead of just buying and storing and to donate what I never will use(this may be hard, as I have a tendacy to hoard).

Well, this weeks corrosive challenge was anything but Christmas. I used this month's sponser and made a cocoa card. The weather is getting colder and hot chocolate is always warming all around. I can't believe it is almost Christmas! My son is turning 20 on Tuesday, so in amongst Christmas shopping I have to birthday shop as well. It's funny, all the Christmas stamps I own and I still haven't started my Christmas cards. I guess I better get into gear. I hope everyone takes some time forthemselves and enjoy the Christmas Season.

CASE a member

This week over at the corrosive challenge is to CASE a member.The card is outlined with sparkly stickers and is layered with Stampin Up designer paper, in amongst his beard are red pearls. The Santa image is from Hero Arts, I really like that he is the old fashioned type. I have embossed the card with the snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder. This week over at the corrosive challenge our challenge was to create a card about Giving Thanks. I think but am not sure that Thanksgiving is coming up in the States, since I am Canadian, we have already celebrated it, but anytime to say thank you or give thanks is a good time. This card I used pumpkin houser from our sponser inktegrity I also used pumpkin pie cardstock and dsp. The inside is a bookmark and the saying is from the stampin up stamp set Gratitude.

Almost Halloween! I love handing out(and eating) the candy. This card I cased but not sure who from, I want to say Michelle Zindorf but if it was yours, please tell me and I will give credit where credit is deserved. I sponged the background and embossed the Haunted wheel. All my wheels are cut apart so I can see what I am stamping. Simple card but very striking.

So I am in the mood to make Halloween cards. I am one that does give them out. The first card is really simple with an embossed background from Cuttlebug and three bats from a Stampin up set that I can't think of the name(any help would be appreciated). The saying is from Holiday Best(Stampin Up).

This card I brought out the Fiendish Friends from Stampin Up and coloured with pencil crayons. i love this set. I added a couple of crystal skulls to accent the page.

This week's corrossive challenge was Things that Fly. I decided to use one of our sponsers Karens Doodles and it is hard to see but I made a glittery witches shoe to hold candy and a magic wand. Purple Passion!

This week at the Corrosive Challenge, we have a great challenge for you- Purple Passion! Make a card using purple and one other colour. I used one of this months sponsers Doodle Pantry. I love the bat and it was already coloured in(how cool is that). I also used orange as my other colour(since I don't consider black and white as colours) I then cutout black glitter bats with the Stampin up bat punch.
This month is a great month. I love Fall, everything about it. On the 5th is my husband's birthday and on the 19th is my moms. I love Thanksgiving, Halloween and as you can tell I get pretty excited about it all. family getting together, craft shows, pumpkins. Oh My!

I can't believe it is already September!

This will be the first year that I have no children going back to school, and does it ever feel wierd. This week's corrosive challenge was to use one of our sponser. I use dudetime doodles. I love this image, my husband is in construction and for him to wear a white t shirt is ridiculous! It also went with my image that all construction workers,policemen, firemen(you get the idea) should work with no shirts on(again only the hot looking ones) Pretty sexist of me, I klnow but hey.... Dark and Dreary

This weeks corrsive challenge is to make a "dark" card. So, naturally my mind went to Halloween. I used the owl from Stampin up's dark and dreary set and the flourish from Baroque Motifs. The fence is a Martha Stewart punch and I sponged the background in going grey.

It is with heavey heart that Janet(founder of the Corrossive challenge) is stepping down. I wish her all the best as she is just one fantastic person. Thanks you to Susan and Regan who have agreed to keep the challenges alive. In September we will be challenging you every other week.

I have forgot to post but would like to share(a little late) that on August 16th, my husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary. It was spent quietly but very content. I know it is corny but I think I love him more today than in the begininng, we have been through many trials and tribulations and made it our only slightly scarred. Here is a picture from that time(please be aware that it was the 80"s).

This week at the corrosive challenge was to use Earth Tones, since Fall is one of my favorite seasons, I was ready. I coloured the Medallion stamp(Stampin Up) with pumpkin pie, summer sun,and cajun craze. The background fleck is done with the dot stamp from confetti stamp set. I am ready for Fall!(not a big fan of this hot weather).

Christmas cards this week over at the corrosive challenge, I am not sure if I am even ready to start thinking about Christmas. I saw this card in the Cardmaker magazine and I had to try and recreate it. It is a simple door card with a welcome sign. I placed the sign on the bottom as I wanted to hang a wreath on the door. I used Cherry Cobbler for the door and brads for the handle and hanger. I am kinda liking it but think it may need some tweaking.

I love cupcakes! This week's corrosive challenge was cupcakes.I used Stampin Up cupckae stamp set and punch. Each cupcake is different. I used Flower soft on two of the cakes, glitter paper andthe other cardstock. I cased this card from one that my sister in law made. She has used a tiny cupcake punch and was able to get more on the card, but I like mine just the same. Now off to buy some cakes, because all of this talk made me hungrey!

Sketch Week

This week at the corrosive challenge is sketch week. Here is the sketch if you would like to play along.

I used a stamp,which I love, from this month's sponser-Queen Kat Designs. I was inspired by the stamp to use a sewing theme. I made the spools of thread(I know a little rough-but it was my first time) and the squares are made with designer paper and then ran through the cuttlebug to give a quilted look.

Sunday is Mother's Day, so I want to wish all the moms, moms to be and mom in laws a very happy day of rest and pampering. I thought I would include the two mom cards I made. The first one is for my mom and the second is for my mother in law.

Happy Easter!

We celebrated Easter on Good Friday and had a great dinner(which I made). I wish everyone a Happy Easter and hope it is filled with chocolate. This week's corrosive challenge was Animals.

I am done with this month and the crazy weather, so my card is hoping that April will "roar" out of here. I also did an elephant card. It seems I have a lot of animal stamps.

I did this with some designer paper from my stash and tried to make a simple card. Sometimes I get carried away with the embellies so this week is just simple.

I tried to do a welcome home card and had enough lettering for welcome hom, so that went out the window. The more I thought of the word home, I thought of family, so that is how my card came to be.

This was the name of this week's corrosive challenge, as you can see I used all the colours, but fire was not in my mind when I created the card(maybe my heart was on fire!) I am in the Valentine mood, so my next couple of cards will have a love theme or maybe a Chinese New Year's theme. I love Hello Kitty, I just wish my printing skills were better. Inside the heart it says"you hold the Key to my heart".

I just got this great stamp by Animal Spirit Stamps I really like the detail of the frog, next I think I will emboss him and use bright colours in the detail. I love the 80's. This week challenge was to design a card based on the 80's. The base is black and I used red and yellow with an digital image from Shirley's 2 Girls our hostess for the month of November. This colour combination reminds me of my husband. We were dating in the early 80's and my favorite outfit on him was his black parachute pants with a yellow shirt and then a red shirt over top. Wow! was he hot!

Halloween

This weeks corrosive challenge was a Halloween themed card. I used an image from Robyn's fetish and paper from Stampin up. I have just started to use digital stamps and I have been enjoying them. I am getting ready for Halloween, it just isn't as much fun now that the children are older. I miss the days of choosing a costume, having them ask"can we go out now?"and baking for the schools. I still get to bake for Kaitlin's day program, which makes me happy. Everyone have a safe and Happy Halloween. As soon as it is over I will start with the Christmas decorations!

This weeks Corrosive Challenge was to use no white on a card. I received a card very similiar to this at swap(not sure who did it, so if it is your design, email me and I will give you the credit you deserve) I used Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Jolly Holiday DSP, and Crumb Cake. The image is Stampin Up's Welcome Christmas and the button was one that I bought for a repair on pants and realized it was way to big!Did anyone notice I am getting better at cropping a picture for my blogs-definitely a learning curve.

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!

I hope everyone in Canada is having a happy Thanksgiving. This is my favorite time of the year, leaves are changing, nice crisp weather and lots of craft shows!

Here is what I came up with. I used cherry cobbler, pear pizzaz and chocolate chip all Stampin up paper and I used the Snowflakes stamp. I was in the Christmas spirit.

Part of a Design Team!

My friend, Janet asked if I would be part of her design team and I jumped at the chance! I follow the corrosive challenge blog and I am always inspired by the cards. My first challenge was to use Turquoise, Red and Pink, not colours I would typically choose. I used a digital image from Robyn's fetish digital stamps and coloured her with copics. I used Tempting turquoise as the background and layerd it with red designer paper and accented with pink. I think that it works. I sat with two ladies from Welland and two ladies from Rochester and by the end of the day, we were all fast friends, exchanging numbers and planning to get together. A beautiful Spring Day!

It is a beautiful Spring day here and guess what? I am just down(no reason) just one of those days. So to perk myself up, I went down to the craft room to create. Here is what I came up with, even though I am not that inspired today.

This was a pattern from somewhere and I thought I would create a Beach Tote, eventually I will fill it with beach theme cards.

I like Stampscapes but here is just the scene, I haven't turned it inot a card yet. There is no glare on this picture, I purposely left a white area to make it look like the sun was hitting off the trees.

It's been awhile

It's been a while since I have posted. Life has been pretty busy. Last sunday, my friend Janet came over and taught me how to use Copics, I have been practicing quite a bit. She also taught me tricks with the camera, so I hope the cards are clearer now and how to paper piece. Can't wait until she is back again.A good friend. This is why I haven't been making cards.

His name is Winston and he is 7 months old! I already own 2 8 yr old dachshund's and 3 cats, so life has been hectic.

My First Time!

I am a new blogger, so please be gentle. I love to craft and since I follow a lot of the blogs out there, I thought I would like to share my story.

I am a wife and mom. I have two children 18 and 21, my oldest child has Autism. K is a wonderful, happy young lady. She loves Elmo, the count and Spongebob. She keeps me active all day and my down time is stamping. I have been stamping for 15 years and like everyone else have tried all the "new" crazes out there. I started off with a stamp,embossing powder, heat gun, construction paper(yep I said it) and one black ink pad. Many stamps later, I think I have come along way.
